Nanciann Horvath was born in Bethlehem, PA to a theatrical Hungarian/Slovak family. After graduating Freedom High School and Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing, she moved to Morristown, NJ where she worked as a nurse and participated in local theatre. She also started taking classes in New York City for acting at the HB Studios, commercials and improvisation. After the big move to NYC’s upper West Side, she worked part time for a private Oncologist and Radio City Music Hall! There she joined the AFTRA union and worked in commercials and off Broadway.
The call to move to Los Angeles came a few years later. That immediately proved to be a good decision because she joined SAG in her first year doing soap opera work and commercials. Nanciann has always seen the need to live in the present moment and working in the medical field has just reinforced this for her. Therefore she volunteers for many different groups and agencies.
Just one of her many passions is SAG BookPals reader-their website currently has her picture up there. Making Dr. Seuss her specialty, she has done very animated and different readings at: schools, hospitals, nursing homes, KCET TV, LA Zoo, museums, Long Beach Aquarium, and book fares (just to name a few).
Her other passion is helping people in the present with the joy of improvisation! Having done improvisation with LA Connection and other groups she started reading and doing research about the health benefits of improv. Check out her website: www.improvforhealth.com
